Edit a PDF online
Reviewing a report and annotating the passages to fix, placing a visual signature on a quote, Bates-numbering the exhibits of a case file, adding a “Confidential” watermark, filling a forgotten line: the editor covers everyday retouching without installing software. The document opens right in the browser; your annotations are composed as overlays then baked in at export — text blocks, freehand ink, highlights, rectangles, ellipses and arrows for precise mark-up. The editor also retouches the document around the pages: bookmarks can be added, renamed, moved or deleted, and the file’s title and author metadata can be corrected before export. An honest limit: these are annotations and additions — rewriting the existing text of a PDF remains the job of a word processor or a professional editor. Nothing is sent: every modification is computed on your device, up to 50 MB and 1,000 pages per document. The editor also handles last-minute fixes: masking a line with a white box, completing a date, inserting a forgotten mention — touch-ups that avoid going back to the source document.

FAQ
Which modifications are possible?
Text and freehand annotations, highlights, shapes, visual signatures (drawn, typed or image), watermarks, Bates numbering and added text. The exported PDF embeds these elements into the pages.
Can I modify the document’s existing text?
The editor adds content on top of the pages; deeply rewriting the original text (reflowing paragraphs) is beyond its scope — work from the source document when possible.
Does the signature have legal value?
It is a visual signature: the image of your signature placed on the document. It suits everyday uses but is not a qualified electronic signature (eIDAS-type), which requires a certificate and a timestamp.
Is my document sent for processing?
No. Page rendering, annotation composition and final PDF generation run locally; the file does not leave your browser.
What is Bates numbering?
Sequential page numbering with a custom prefix (e.g. “CASE-0001”), used to reference exhibits in legal, medical or administrative files. Prefix, position and style are configurable.
Can I undo an annotation before export?
Yes — every added element can be moved, resized or deleted until you export; the source PDF is never modified.
Can I prepare a document for signature or distribution?
Yes — the editor combines annotation, visual signature, watermark and Bates numbering before export, all locally.
Can I edit the document’s bookmarks?
Yes — the existing outline is listed for editing: add, rename, move or delete entries so the exported PDF opens with a clean table of contents.
Can I fix the document’s metadata?
The editor lets you set the title, author and subject fields before export — handy to correct a wrong title. For a deeper cleanup, “Sanitize PDF” removes the whole metadata layer.
Does editing work on a scanned PDF?
Annotations, shapes, signature and watermark apply on any page — they are overlays. There is simply no existing text to correct; run “OCR” first if you need a searchable layer underneath.
Can I fill a form that has no interactive fields?
Yes — place text annotations where the answers go on the flattened page. For a real interactive form, “Fill a form” types directly into its fields.
Are my annotations visible in every reader?
Yes — they are drawn into the exported pages, so they display identically in any PDF reader and at print, with no plugin needed.
Can an exported annotation be edited afterwards?
Once baked into the exported pages, an annotation is part of the page content — to change it, go back to the untouched source file and redo the edit. Keep the original until the result is final.
How to proceed
- Open your PDF in the editor — pages display immediately
- Add annotations, signature, watermark or Bates numbering and adjust positions
- Export the modified document — the source file stays unchanged
