Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Processing runs locally in your browser; nothing is transmitted.

Which tables are detected?

Bordered tables (rulings) and regularly aligned text columns. Merged cells and complex layouts are not reconstructed.

What about scanned PDFs?

Detection needs a text layer: run the OCR tool first on a scanned document.
