Convert text to PDF

For sharing notes, an error log or a code excerpt in a universal form, PDF remains the safe bet. This tool takes your text — pasted into the field or imported from a .txt file (5 MiB maximum) — and composes it as a paginated A4 document: a fixed-width font to preserve alignment, automatic line wrapping, clean page breaks that never split lines. Pagination is driven by the browser print engine — the same pipeline as “Markdown to PDF” — then exported to PDF. Everything runs locally: no data is transmitted. The fixed-width font helps preserve indentation, but long lines wrap to the available width rather than keeping an unlimited horizontal canvas. The panel offers A4 or Letter paper and portrait or landscape orientation. Landscape can be useful for wide logs; inspect the paginated preview before saving. Margins are fixed at 18 mm vertically and 16 mm horizontally, with a page-number footer. This is plain-text composition: angle brackets are escaped as text, not interpreted as HTML, and Markdown markers are not converted into headings or emphasis. Use Markdown to PDF for that separate workflow. Importing a file fills the editable text field, so corrections can be made before conversion. Export opens the native print dialog; choose its PDF destination to save a file. The print action remains available after pagination if the dialog was closed without saving. You can clear the input and start another document from the same panel. A blank or whitespace-only source cannot be submitted for conversion.

FAQ

Is code formatting preserved?

The fixed-width font keeps indentation and column alignment — code excerpts, tables of numbers and ASCII layouts survive intact.

How does pagination behave?

Lines wrap to the A4 width and page breaks never split a line — a log file stays readable exactly where the pages turn.

Can I convert several files at once?

One document at a time; concatenate the .txt files first if they belong in a single PDF.

Does the PDF include page numbers?

Yes — the print stylesheet adds a current-page and total-page footer. Review the paginated preview before saving through the native print dialog.

Why monospace rather than a normal font?

Alignment is the point: logs, code and tabular text stay column-perfect — a proportional font would break the layout that made the text readable.

Paste text or import a file?

Both — paste into the field or import a .txt (5 MiB maximum); the content fills the field for review.

Is the layout customizable?

Choose A4 or Letter and portrait or landscape orientation. Font, margins and footer styling are fixed; the preview lets you check how the text wraps.

Are special characters handled?

Accents, emoji and tabs go through the browser encoding; tab alignment follows the fixed pitch.

Is my text sent to a server?

No — composition, pagination and PDF export run entirely inside your browser.

Maximum number of pages?

File import is capped at 5 MiB. There is no separate page-count setting in the panel; pagination time and memory use depend on the text and device.

Can I convert a .docx file?

No — the tool handles plain text; export to .txt from your word processor first.

Which fonts and layout does the PDF use?

Text is typeset in a clean layout with automatic line wrapping and pagination. Encoding is handled for you — accented and non-Latin characters are embedded so the output prints identically everywhere.

How to proceed

  1. Paste your text or import a .txt file
  2. Review the content in the input field
  3. Run the conversion — A4 pagination is computed
  4. Download the generated PDF
