From PDF container to web page
A PDF requires a reader; an HTML page opens everywhere. Converting a PDF to standalone HTML produces a single file that displays in any browser — handy for publishing a document without forcing a download or depending on a plugin.
Security: inert HTML by construction
Converting an arbitrary document to HTML raises a security question: the source PDF may contain hostile content. The conversion escapes all content — tags and scripts from the document become displayed text, never executed code — and the result is served under a strict content security policy, with no external requests.
What it’s for
- Publishing a report or documentation as a standalone web page.
- Making a document viewable on mobile without a dedicated app.
- Producing an indexable web version of a frozen PDF.
- Previewing textual content before extraction or translation.
If you want reusable structure instead
To reintegrate the content into a CMS or an editing pipeline rather than publishing it as-is, the Markdown export is often better suited than rendered HTML.
