Four ways to split a PDF
Splitting isn’t always “cut in half”. The right rule depends on the document:
By size: produces files under a MB threshold — useful to respect an upload limit.
Every X pages: regular cutting for homogeneous documents (statements, bundled invoices).
By bookmarks: one file per chapter when the document is structured.
By text: splits at each occurrence of a marker (“Invoice #”, “Chapter”).
Reports, theses and legal bundles often carry bookmarks. Bookmark splitting turns them into standalone files without manual work — and without sending the document to an online service, which matters for confidential material.
Splitting a confidential document
A medical file or a contract shared between parties shouldn’t transit through a third-party server. Local splitting happens in browser memory: you can verify in the Network tab that no content leaves.
After splitting
Each segment becomes a complete, standalone PDF. You can then merge them selectively, compress them or distribute them separately — all without leaving the browser.
No store, no account: a two-click install, double-click to open a PDF, Android share target, and a full offline mode once you have visited the site online once.
