Extract pages from a PDF
Recovering the only signed page of a 300-page file, isolating chapter 4 of a report, detaching appendices to send separately: extraction produces a new PDF containing only the chosen pages. Enter single numbers or ranges — for example “3-7, 12” — in the order that suits you. The source document is never modified: the tool reads the requested pages and writes a fresh file, on your device, with no upload. To extract whole sections delimited by bookmarks, the “Extract sections by outline” tool automates the cutting. A frequent case: pulling only the signed pages of a contract to send back, or isolating a report cover page to illustrate a presentation. If several documents need the same cut — monthly statements, recurring reports — batch mode applies the same selection to each file in turn. And because the extract is rebuilt from the original page objects rather than re-rendered, fonts, vectors and images keep their quality byte for byte.

FAQ
How do I specify the pages to extract?
As numbers or ranges separated by commas: “3-7, 12” extracts pages 3 to 7 then page 12. The input order sets the output page order — “12, 3-7” is possible.
What are the extraction limits?
A source document of 50 MB maximum and up to 1,000 pages. Each page can appear only once in the selection.
Does extraction modify the original file?
No. The tool generates a new PDF with the chosen pages; the source document stays intact on your device.
Do extracted pages lose quality?
No: pages are copied as-is into the new file, with no image re-encoding or text alteration.
Are my documents sent to a server?
Never. Reading the PDF and writing the extraction file happen in the browser — you can cut the network, the tool still works.
Can I extract sections defined by bookmarks?
Yes, with “Extract sections by outline”: the named chapters of the table of contents become separate files, without counting pages by hand.
Can I extract pages out of order?
Yes — the input order defines the result order: “12, 3-5” produces page 12 then pages 3 to 5. Useful for recomposing a document while filtering it.
Are bookmarks kept in the extract?
Yes — the document outline is carried over and remapped: bookmarks pointing to your selected pages keep working in the new file, while entries targeting dropped pages are pruned.
Are form fields preserved?
A limitation to know: pages are copied at content level, so interactive form fields and their values may not survive — keep the original file when the extract must stay fillable.
Can I extract pages from a locked PDF?
Encryption blocks reading: unlock the document first with its password via “Unlock a PDF”, then run the extraction on the copy obtained.
Can the same selection run on several files?
Yes — switch batch mode on and drop several PDFs: the same page list applies to each document, which yields its own extract to download.
Why extract rather than delete the other pages?
Extraction builds a fresh file from your selection — nothing of the removed pages remains inside, which is the safer way to share only a subset of a document.
What if my page selection has an error?
The list is validated before extraction: an out-of-range page or a duplicate index is flagged so you fix the selection rather than produce a broken file.
How to proceed
- Drop your PDF into the upload area
- Enter the pages to extract (e.g. “3-7, 12”), in the desired order
- Download the new PDF containing only those pages
- Check the numbering shown by the reader: it starts at 1, not the original document’s
