Reorder the pages of a PDF
Putting the signature page back at the end, moving an appendix into the right chapter, fixing the order of a hastily assembled document: type the new sequence — for example 3, 1, 2 — and the tool rebuilds the PDF in that order. Each page must appear exactly once in the list. If you prefer to work visually, Organize Pages lets you drag-and-drop thumbnails instead of typing numbers. Reordering is a rewrite of the page tree: fast, visually lossless — bookmarks are kept and re-pointed to their pages — and entirely on your device. The list is validated before anything is written: a missing number or a duplicate is flagged, so the produced file always covers the whole document exactly once. Honest limit: form fields are not carried over to the reordered document. For a very long document, prepare the list in a text editor then paste it: safer than typing 200 numbers by hand. Typical uses beyond the misplaced signature page: fixing a scan assembled in the wrong sequence by a document feeder, bringing an executive summary to the front of a report, or gathering the appendices at the end of a dossier before sending it.

FAQ
How do I express the new order?
As a list of numbers separated by commas: 3, 1, 2 places page 3 first, then 1, then 2. Every page of the document must be listed, without duplicates.
What is the page limit?
Up to 1,000 pages per document, 50 MB maximum. For long documents, the thumbnail view of Organize Pages is more comfortable than a list of numbers.
Is the page content altered?
No — only the order references change in the file structure; each page is copied identically.
Can I delete or duplicate a page at the same time?
The list requires each page exactly once: no deletion, no duplication. For those, use Delete Pages or Organize Pages (one-click duplication) respectively.
Is the original file preserved?
Yes — the result is a new PDF you download; the source document stays unchanged on your disk.
Can I move a single page?
Yes — rewrite the complete list with its number at the new position; every page must appear once.
What happens if I forget a page?
The list must cover all pages: the tool flags missing or duplicated numbers before producing the document.
Can I use range notation?
Yes — enter the full order with ranges where useful, for example 5-8, 1-4 to move an entire section.
Do bookmarks survive the new order?
Yes — the outline is remapped to follow its pages: a bookmark that pointed to page 3 still opens the same content wherever it now sits in the document.
Why must every page be listed?
The list is the complete new order of the document — leaving a page out would silently drop it. Validation flags gaps and duplicates before the file is written, so nothing gets lost unnoticed.
How do I reverse a whole document?
List the pages in descending order — “10-1” covers a ten-page file backwards. Handy for a stack scanned back to front: reverse the order, and if the backs interleave with fronts, see “Alternate mix” on the Split PDF hub.
Can I reorder a password-protected PDF?
Not directly — encryption blocks reading the page tree. Unlock the document first with its password via “Unlock PDF”, then reorder the copy obtained.
Is there a faster path when I only need to turn or delete pages?
Yes — “Organize pages” shows every page as a thumbnail to rotate, delete, duplicate or drag; use Reorder Pages when the permutation is already known and long.
